The Dandelion Ride

As part of HCA Hospice Care’s 30th Anniversary celebrations, HCA Hospice Care is organising The Dandelion Ride to raise $300,000 for 1,000 home visits to provide care and comfort for patients with life limiting illnesses.

With our care, patients are able to spend their last days with dignity at home in the presence of their loved ones.

Sign up as a Dandelion Rider or a Donor now.

Together we can create more good days for our patients as they embrace the last leg of their life journey.

Mr Ong Chin Guan, HCA’s patient, and Ms Janet Leong, whom he lovingly calls his soulmate and fiancée.

"Don’t give up on life."

For 57-year-old Mr Ong Chin Guan, an avid collector of a myriad of clocks, the rhythmic ticking of the clock is a constant reminder of the passage of time. Mr Ong knows his days are numbered. “The clocks are a reminder to myself that time is precious and we should seize the moment.”

“Patients should face up to reality if they have been diagnosed,” he says. “Don’t give up on life.”

Aiman and his grandmother at the Zoo-rassic Park

"The Dino Boy"

Meet Aiman, an inquisitive, affectionate and bubbly five-year-old boy, who was also a walking encyclopedia for dinosaurs.

Aiman was diagnosed on June 2015 with a rare brain tumour, at a tender age of three-and-a-half years old. The doctor gave him a prognosis of six months to live. Though faced with numerous challenges and immense physical pain, Aiman lived his life with zeal and gusto.

Seeing his love for dinosaurs, our Star PALS’ Nurse Nicole and the wonderful team from the Wild Discoverer Tour granted Aiman his dream to visit the “Zoo-rassic Park” exhibition at the Singapore Zoo!
